Sara's profile

Sara Hashemi is a Brooklyn-based freelance science journalist and fact-checker. Her work covers environmental justice, climate, and the intersection between science and society.

She is currently a daily correspondent at Smithsonian Magazine. Previously, she was an editorial fellow at Sierra Magazine. She has an MA in science journalism from NYU, where she was the editor in chief of Scienceline, and a BA in Environment & Development from McGill University.
